Welcome to Tomeward (“Tomeward,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a software application operated by BeaverByte Software. By creating an account, browsing our application, or utilizing our services, you (“Custodian,” “User,” or “Subscriber”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”).

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must refrain from using the Tomeward platform and related services.
1. The Custodial Service
Tomeward is a dedicated software-as-a-service application designed for private physical book collectors, personal librarians, and bibliophiles. Our software facilitates physical volume cataloging, edition metadata retrieval, multi-room shelf location mapping, custody and lending tracking, barcode scanning, and printable smart QR/NFC shelf tags.
2. Account Registration & Security
To utilize our cataloging services, you must register for an account with a valid email address and secure password. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete credentials during registration.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials and restrict unauthorized access.
- Promptly notify us at
custodian@tomeward.appif you discover or suspect unauthorized access to your archive.
3. Subscription Plans & Payment Terms
Tomeward provides both complimentary and paid subscription tiers to accommodate collections of all sizes:
Complimentary Custodian Tier ($0)
Free forever. Enables cataloging of up to 50 physical volumes, basic shelf mapping, and unlimited lossless CSV/JSON data exports.
Archivist Tier$4.99/mo · $49/yr
Unlimited physical volume cataloging, smart borrower custody alerts, printable QR/NFC shelf labels, and priority support.
- Payment Processing: All transactions and subscription billings are securely conducted via our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. We do not store, process, or view full payment card numbers on our servers.
- Automatic Renewal: Paid subscriptions automatically renew on their recurring monthly or annual billing cycle unless canceled prior to the renewal date.
- Cancellation Policy: You may cancel your subscription at any time directly through your account dashboard or via the Stripe customer portal. Upon cancellation, your Archivist benefits remain active until the end of your current paid billing period.
- Refunds: If you believe an erroneous charge was processed or are dissatisfied within 14 days of your initial payment, please contact
custodian@tomeward.appfor review.
4. Data Sovereignty & User Ownership
We believe book collectors must remain sovereign over their archives. You retain full ownership and intellectual rights to:
- Your cataloged physical volume records, custom notes, conditions, and acquisition details.
- Your shelf hierarchy, custom locations, and lending custody histories.
- Your private reading notes and ratings.
You may export your complete library catalog in standard open formats (CSV and JSON) at any time, without fee or limitation, directly from your settings.
5. Acceptable Conduct & Prohibitions
By using Tomeward, you agree not to:
- Engage in automated scraping, stress testing, or denial-of-service attempts against our infrastructure or upstream bibliographic APIs.
- Attempt to decompile, reverse-engineer, or circumvent security, authorization, or tier quotas.
- Store unlawful, defamatory, or abusive material within catalog notes or public shared library descriptions.
6. Limitation of Liability & Warranty Disclaimer
Tomeward is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranty of any kind. While we make every reasonable effort to ensure continuous uptime, secure backups, and data integrity, BeaverByte Software and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from loss of data, service interruption, or bibliographic discrepancies from third-party APIs.
